Can Somebody Tell Me What Kind Of Snake This Is?

Spitfire

Snakeless
I'm pretty sure the guy told me that it was a motley and in some motley pics I've looked at, they looked alike. It kinda looks like this one pic of a caramel too. Can anyone tell what kind it is?

does that look like a hybrid to anyone else except me?

I see the no-black-spot belly indicitative of bloodred or striped/motley but those bands and that shade of orange makes me suspect?

Just a hunch, I've been into corn snakes for 4 years now and I still can't figure out how some people classify them like they do...

it's a looker no doubt

No...it doesn't look like a hybrid to me. That color is quite common in motleys. It is also quite common for a normal motley to not have much black on it. I have some that are like that, too.

looks hypo hybrid motley-stripe with a twist of vanilla snow opal-lavander amel...

:D like I said, I'm not good at that stuff...

Motleys can be deceptive. The disruption of normal corn patterns can easily lead you to think 'hybrid' when they are pure guttata.

Both '03 Motleys from MilkMot X Motley-Stripes.

WHY

Why is it when someone has a little trouble identifying a morph they automatically assume/accuse/anounce hybrid?
There are so many different looks for every morph out there it is just too dificult to tell from poor quality photos. Sometimes it is even hard to tell from quality photos.
Hard to identify does not equal hybrid.
So, although I do not have a tremendous amount of experience with a lot of the morphs I will stick my neck on the block and say that snake looks like a normal motley to me.
thanks for letting me vent....lol

There seems to be a period in the development of a corn keeper that gives us a false sense of knowledge.

I made my mistakes and made judment calls that were way off base. I was corrected by the more experienced and learned my lesson.

The more we learn about the genetics of corns the more we find we don't know squat! There are a few proven facts but there is much more that we don't know.

As long as the offending "person" sees the error of thier way, and learns something from it, I see no major foul.

EDITED for maturities sake:

I don't see HYBRIDS like many of you do as taboo and the evil of evil, not-a-real-corn, he can't hang with us if it's not pure-bred mantality. This is not a dog forum, pure bred's don't impress me, without a doubt beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to reptiles and especially corns with the innumerable variations.
