Here is a Siamese Kitten we decided to adopt and try to bring to health. You can literally count each and every vertebrae and rib, including tail; with how underweight she is. She's a female with a lot of work, and a rough road ahead. She is probably 8 to 9 weeks old, and weigh's in, after eating... a whopping 340 grams total. She was caught in a live animal trap by animal control, and let sit for a few days until a local Dog Rescue picked her up. Cross your fingers and hope for the best with this little girl. She has a broken, beat up body; but a lot of spirit.

My sister had a kitten that got under my tires once when i was backing out from under the garage... Well my parents refused to take it to the vet, Its life was severely shortened, though it did live another 4 years... It just never grew larger than kitten size... I really hope nothing like that has happened to this little guy. I hope you get it back to health. Good luck.

Thanks for the good words, everyone. We walked in this morning, and she had quite a bit more energy and spunk. It's a good sign already :)

Just one question did animal control have water and food in the trap. I figure they had food to bait the kitten into the trap however I do not figure they put water in the trap. To me if you are going to trap an animal you need to check the trap each day.

Sorry for the off topic rant.

I may dislike cats, but Siamese have a special place in my cold blooded heart.

I will do a special prayer for the little girl and I am not a praying man.

From what we understand, there was no water in there, but there probably was bait for the trap. We're not sure if they were even trying to trap the kitten. They could have been going for a Racoon, or Possum.

We rescued a kitten in our backyard this summer, 8-9 wks old and she weighed 1.25 lbs, total skin and bones. She's disabled and wouldn't have lived much longer on her own. Now she's big, healthy, feisty and happy. I wish your new baby all the best. I'm sure she'll make a full recovery with lots of love and good food.

I found a kitten in May. Someone had put him in a box and duct taped it shut and put it in the park. He was 8 wks old. He is now HUGE and spoiled rotten. I hope all the best for your little one. She is beautiful.

Hey AndrewH,

I hope they were going for something else, however they still need to check a trap daily if you do not put enough food and water to last an animal for the period of time you will be gone. Because all animals need water on a daily basis.

I just hate bad trappers.

My brother had a Siamese cat and it became part of the family. I guess the 2 cats my wife and daughter have, have managed to squeeze into my cold blood heart also.

She sure does look like she will be a fine look Siamese cat once she fully recovers.

I hope she continues to gain weight and thrive for you. She is a doll. I grew up with a Siamese and they have always held a special place in my heart.

I just don't think animal control really cared. Most of them don't.

She is putting down food like a champ though, as well as her water. She loves her heating pad as well. She started walking around a lot today, and she's been meowing. Yesterday she tried meowing several times; opened her mouth and nothing came out. I think she's going to pull through. :)

This may of been addressed already. Have you taken her to the vet? Again if you have I mean no offense.

I do hope she makes it too!!! She definitely has a good chance if she is eating and drinking well.

I got my cat at 2 weeks old, bad respiratory infection, infected eyes, skinny and severely dehydrated. Now 3 1/2 yrs later he is a pain and my butt!!! Lol but I love him dearly, no one expected him to make it but I gave it a shot.

I like hearing stories of people helping an animal have a good shot at life even if they are unsure it will work. Good luck!

Thanks all! This is only day 3, and she's already walking fine, and meowing. She couldn't walk the first day we received her, and could barely hold her head up to eat. She's been doing great, putting on weight, has better control of her bowels, and all. I think she's going to pull through.

Yes she has been to a vet. She has been dewormed (had hookworm); and as soon as she gets a tolerable weight to her, she's going to receive her vaccinations, and shots. Right now, her body won't handle it.

Hurray for adopting stray kittens! (we've had our little Boo a month. She was about 5 weeks old and abandoned in the neighborhood. We spent a day patiently trying to catch her.

I'm glad yours is doing so much better. She looks like a total darling (I love Siamese cats...my first kitty was half Siamese, and I adored him)
