That Kind Of Day

I'm on the verge of tears. It's been that kind of day. I was supposed to cover for someone at work today from 1-9pm. I was all set to go. My boyfriend knocked on the door and I grabbed my stuff. Everything was going great. I stepped out of the house and shut the door. Within 10 seconds, I realized I didn't grab my keys. Or my phone. So, I can't call the landlord (who would take hours to show up anyway) or get into the house. By the time I got off work, it would be dark. I don't leave my porch light on.

So, what to do? Call a locksmith. On a Sunday. During the football game. 15 minutes before I'm supposed to be at work. At this moment, I'm exactly 30 minutes late. The locksmith may take up to an hour to get here. I'm all ready on thin ice at work. I was late yesterday by 15 minutes because I was planning on calling in sick. However, despite the cramps and nausea, I had to go in or lose my job. It was a sale day. Now, I'm going to be at least an hour late. And, because it's Sunday, the locksmith is probably about twice as much as it would be on a Monday. This brings me another $60 short for bills I have to pay tomorrow, for a total of $410 short on bill money. And I won't get paid for 9 hours of work today, which I really needed the "extra" $15.

I hate this. With my old job, I had at least that much to spend on extra stuff. I guess I could have broken a window to get in, but then I'd still have to pay for it. The only windows I could get to are either in the reptile room or the living room, so that's not really a great option with the cold weather (or cats and dogs). Besides, I'd still have to pay for it myself.

It's just one of those days where you just want to cry, get drunk, eat a gallon of ice cream and go back to bed.

Halley, I am sorry you are having such a bad day. I hope it gets better.

I kept messing up at work too. It was another "bang my head against a brick wall" day. I wish I had tomorrow off. At least I get to do my regular job of taking pictures of antiques for the website tomorrow. Much better than working the counter.
