Can my little mate get too hot? she has a heat pad in one corner of the viv (Temp 78f) the viv is above a radiator which can raise the temperature as high as 90f, In the summer she will get direct sunlight (through the glass) but the radiators will not be on. She seems very happy but I don't want a BBQ. Are there any signs that she is too hot?

Signs that she is too hot would be seeing her crammed up against the wall on the cool side or seeing her soaking in her water dish.

You definitely want to avoid direct sunlight, it brings on a warming condition aptly named "the greenhouse effect". The glass panels of the cage let in light but keep heat from escaping. This causes the cage to heat up quite a bit even when you have a screen top on the cage.

What about indirect sunlight? Is it better to have the tank in a shaded corner or a place where it get partial sun in the morning? (Sorry, I don't mean to steal anyone's topic here!!)
