Kiss My Hearse
Sadly, we had three of our cats put down last night. It was the right time and there were different reasons for each of them, but it doesn't make it easier. We had to do them at the same time because there was no way we could go through this kind of pain and heartache three separate times. RIP Joey, Cinnamon and Violet (the Derp). You were deeply loved and are terribly missed.

I'm so sorry! I don't even want to think about losing my cat. Let alone three at once.
I'll be thinking of you!

I feel for you. We just had to do the same for a great dog, it's a hard thing to do.
It couldn't have been easy doing three at once, but I think it was a good idea.

*hugs* I'm sorry for your losses. I can't imagine having to do that. I'll definitely keep you all in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine the heartache of coming home to three less....

I hope the hole in your hearts can be filled quickly.

Friday night was horrible. Yesterday I was in a daze. Two of the cats predated my marriage by 7 and 8 yrs.

The Derp (Violet) was only 6 1/2 months old. She was our special needs rescue kitten. Unfortunately, her problems were more extensive that we realised. She had 4 1/2 months of love, warmth, comfort and good food. If we hadn't rescued her when we did she would have died from starvation. At least she went peacefully in the arms of the vet tech who also loves our pets as did all three.

Joey was the first cat I got here in Washington. He was 16. He was our only male cat, a polydactyl medium haired black and white tuxedo. He could actually grasp things with his front paws, having three toes on one side of each paw and four toes on the other. I'm glad he never figured out how to get ahold of the car keys. >snicker<

Cinnamon is the hardest for me to live without. I got her when she was 10 months old, so we were together for 14 years and she was 15 on Friday. She was the most unique cat I've ever known. They say torties are full of personality and boy, was she ever. She would try to talk to you, obviously making an attempt for you to understand what she was saying. She would repeat herself several times, making eye contact, turning her head like she was mentally trying to impart her intent. She would get sooo frustrated when I didn't get it. LOL

I miss them all and I'm glad we still have several cats to love, but none are the same as Moto Jojo, Ninners or the Derp. No cats will ever replace them.

(((Dionythicus))) I'm sorry you had to put your fur babies down. It's good to hear you sharing about them with sweet memories.

Our friends did Ninners' portrait last summer, based on us telling them that she was losing her mind. She was definitely suffering from dementia and it was getting worse. So they put her in Bedlam, where the crazies belong, lol. They always do research and there is so much information and accurate historical artifacts and architecture in all their art. The frame is very old, as well, maybe late 1800's. It's in our kitchen, above our altar to Bastet and the other gods and goddesses.

We're going to have them paint Joey, too, as soon as we get pics compiled for them to work from. Because his fangs stuck out a little, they're going to make him into Dracula, with him wearing the high collar vampire tuxedo. It will match his tuxedo pattern, lol They'll probably use a costume from an old Bela Lugosi film or something cool. They want to use an oval frame, and make it look like an old portrait, so I can't wait to see it.

She looks like Sammy, my childhood friend. I had to put down my tabby last fall. He was the first pet we got as a married couple and at least 7 when we adopted. I miss his purring so much. Our two year old son still asks for him. It never easy to lose kitties, they are such magical creatures.
