New pics of my Crested Gecko adults. DUW

Elemental Exotics
I finally got some decent pictures of my adults today, especially Maui and Miami, all their good pictures were really old. First is Maui, she was about 20% fired in these. She is a tri-colored Harlequin that fires up dark, almost black, orange and cream.

She weighed 41 grams today. She was 6 grams when I got her from Petco.
Then here are a few of Cairo, she was about 20% fired too. She weighed 39 grams today.

And last but not least, my first crested, Miami. He is a yellow Harlequin. He weighed 25 grams today, he needs a bit more meat on him but he's the most picky eater I have. He was 10 grams when I got him from Petco.

I tried to get Maui to fire up today for some pictures but she declined to fire up the orange part of her pattern.

She started to fire down while I was taking pictures.

They all look wonderful. :p

I find that the best way to get my garg fired up is to just keep her out for a while and let her do her thing, either sleeping in my robe or exploring my laptop.

A sauna is supposed to get them to fire up and it does help but she is just uncooperative, every time she fires up real pretty she either fires down when the camera comes out or I make a mess of the picture and it doesn't turn out. She seems to have two fired up states, that one and one where all the orange hiding in her pattern comes out and almost overwhelms the cream. But I was happy to get some decent shots of at least one of her fired up stages.

Wow....I didn't realize they got so big! I guess everyone I ever seen was so itty bitty I just thought they stayed that way. Are they the size of a Leo??

They are GORGEOUS. Man, I love their eyes...they are too cute!
Do they not grow their tail back once they lose it?

Yeah, they probably get pretty close in size to a Leo, I haven't seen very many adult Leos in person. The cresteds are part of the Rhacodactylus family and all of them can lose their tails but the cresteds are the only ones that don't grow them back.

They're about the same length, but normal adult leos (ie, not giants or super giants) are more robust in their feel and generally heavier. Cresties are quite flexible and lighter. Plus, they feel like freaking velvet.

What are their temperments like?

My leo is crazy and I believe she snorts her calcium when we're not looking, I admit, she scares me after I seen her grab her food bowl and attack it! Plus she is insance, everytime you pick her up she bolts...

I've read this is normal, some are like that, some aren't....but she's turned me off leo's, I love her but I don't want anymore, haha.
