Where do corns lay their eggs in the wild?

Where do corns lay their eggs in the wild? I'm wondering how on earth they manage to find the 100% humidity and constant 80F temp we're trying to achieve with our incubators. Is there a very high attrition rate for wild-laid clutches?

Now THERE'S someone who has never spent any time in FL, GA, SC, LA, or TN in the spring time!!! :D

100% and 80 degrees is what it stays for nearly the entirety of "spring" in many of the southern States. That's why they're so plentiful there. However, I would imagine that temperature fluctations tend to have more of an affect on incubation time than we see in the captive community.

In rotting logs and under moist leaves are common places.
