Hey Rich,

Just wondering if you are going to the Raleigh Expo? I heard that you weren't, but the fact that you haven't posted on the forum for the past 2 days sorta shows that you haven't been around to post. I am guessing you are on your way here, but if you aren't, I thought I would ask. If you are, I guess I will see you before you read this thread, so...ignore it :D .

Thanks,

Sorry but no, not doing the Raleigh show this time.

Sold out most of the animals I would consider saleable at Raleigh, so there is no reason to go there. Well the gun show next door to the reptile show would be a good reason, but not enough for the 11 hour drive up there. :)

Darn!

I always have a special "Rich Z" fund I set aside just to buy any animals you might have on your table that strike me as particularly peculiar :D ! I guess I can use it for something else, but thats a shame. We'll miss you up here...but maybe in the fall, huh?

:shrugs:

Hi All,

Didn't really know where to post this, guess this is as good a place as any. I just returned from the show, a new 75gal. tank for Sneak,(once he grows a bit), dirt cheap! Did I say dirt cheap, I paid $15.00 more for the very same aquarium 24 years ago USED. Great Time, even got to meet Kathy Love, bought mice for 25¢ apiece,( I was paying almost $1.25 local), well worth the $7 dollar entry fee. I am as happy as if I had good sense!

Guys, don't miss the next show, you will NOT be disappointed!

actually, if one were to re-visit last years show and compare it with this years show, you would see the same number of people, but less crowding. WHY? Because they moved the mammals and other "non-herp" (besides tarantulas) booths outside under the canopies. So.... inside the arena was nowhere near as crowded as previous years. As for the selection of different herps, I feel this go around was lagging behind on the variety. Oh well, theres always the fall... i dont know if it was better or worse this time. They did have the wheel of fortune, a great bonus (although i didn't win diddly squat even with 3 spins and other ppl who probably dont even own herps were winning exo-terra waterfalls, misters, CHE's and UTH's. )...

oh well...

Hi Wes,

Raleigh was my first reptile show, ever! I agree, the snake selection was seriously lacking, (I really didn't "do" the petting ZOO), it was Sunday and afterall, the last day. I couldn't get there earlier, as it was, I had to do a 370 mile turn-around, just to be there at all, but I am so happy that I did get to go. September, I shall try again, with even more time, I hope.

Regarding "The Wheel of Fortune", the Ball Python, that someone won, would of been a heck of a lot happier coming home with me. By the time I came through, it was the best looking snake there, hands down! NO Doubt! (I would love to know which breeder had a hand in that cutie.)

Thanks for the info. I see you are in Raleigh, I live in Chapel Hill, Hope to meet you one day.

Best Wishes and Thanks Again.

I thought Tony was supposed to have some sort of "battle of the bands" there at the show? Did that happen? Not that I would want something like that in conjunction with the reptile show, but I am just curious.

Of course, even if I had gone to the show, I probably would have been over at the gun show most of the weekend anyway. So it's just as well, I guess.

you mean like a concert type of battle of the bands? no, i was there both days, for most of the time and didnt hear anything about anything like that. The only new thing was the wheel of fortune really. And the gun show I heard was absolutely PACKED!!!

:fullauto: ................................... :madeuce:

There was a rodeo or somthing in the stadium and the entire fairgrounds were packed with extended families of hispanics and they all went over to the gun show and alot came in to the reptile show too. (im not being racially biased BTW, I dont want to seem ignorant, but you had to be there to realize the exstensive majority of hispanics at the fairgrounds) :D
