Michelle's Candied Corns!
As I said before in some thread here... my teacher decided she'd let all the classroom animals go home with students over break! I volunteered for my favorite- the Black Rat Snake. We just had them probed last week and she's a girl! So I get to name her too since only the tegu, boa, and gerbil had names! Now, my teacher also decided she'd like me to take home the california king snake.. I don't have him yet since he's evil.. but tomorrow he'll be coming home, and I get to name him too! The black rat snake supposedly is evil too, but she's only struck at me a total of four times, getting my sleeve once, so I didn't even feel it. She used to be terrible at musking, but she hasn't even done that the last few weeks. The cal king struck at me once and I got a nasty bite since I pulled back without thinking. Now, about a year ago, the black rat had a real big issue and she always struck the glass on the side of the cage and I think she actually had broken her jaw, and she wouldn't eat. She no longer does that, but her jaw had scabs on it when I first started to handle her this semester- I'll try to get pictures of this tomorrow or friday. Anyway, I absolutely ADORE this snake and I wish so much that this babysitting deal was a permanent loan. Not so much the cal king. He is not my friend. Anyway, name suggestions for the black rat? I already am thinking of Squatch for the cal king. Oh, does the rat snake seem skinny? I'm thinking no just because last year she was in super rough shape and basically a skeleton, but I am not sure. Enjoy
I'll post random pics of the two of them over the next month until I have to take them back
