Beasts?

I am thinking about breeding a clutch of black rats x corns this year and had a few questions. I am planning on using a female black rat and a male corn, should this be opposite? If the male corn I use is amel, or motley will there be a possibility of getting amel beasts or motley beasts in the f2? Also I know that they get large but what is the largest they can get? I know alot of people dont like hybreds but if I do sell them they WILL be labeled as what they are. If any of you have pictures of any please post them!

I have a pair from Becky. If you use amel or motley in the original pair, the F1 will all be het for that gene. You would get a return on those genes in the F2 clutch.

Becky could tell you better about their adult size, but they are bigger than pure corns. Mine are juvies, so I don't know what their full size will be yet.

I need to track down my pics of them. I'll post them in a minute.

Here they are. The snow is the male, Lord Kohaku von Alchemy. The amel is the female, Lady Siren von Alchemy,

Unless the amelanism between the two is compatible, and apparently there is a form of amelanism found in ratsnakes that is, you won't get amels in the F1 generation.

Those are really cool looking, The male TS im getting from you just might be meeting another black rat in the future because I am getting one next week! Although she isnt het amel I cant wait to see if the babies will turn out like these ones:dancer:
