It's a lot better than yesterday though. You can vote multiple times as well, I believe.

I have to say that is such a wide-open question as to what is an exotic pet. I think snakes & reptiles are totally fine, but now tigers and even chimps and monkeys, I have to say no on that. Too many people have been turned on by these "pets". That poor woman who got mauled by that chimp a couple years ago, that was horrific. She wasn't even the owner.

I voted yes, but in truth, I'm not totally yes.

I agree. People need to understand that "exotic" has many implications. Just because an animal isn't a dog or cat doesn't necessarily mean it's anything exotic. I want to vote yes, but I don't agree with all exotics being housepets. It's just too open to interpretation.

Voted "yes"... but wayyyy too wide a range in "exotic" though. I question if corns, kings, balls... even fall under "exotic".

Heck, pet rats, ferrets, hamsters, and even fish are exotic pets! Its hard when they dont define the word "exotic". Too broad of a question, but I still answered yes.

Exactly! Goldfish are not "native" to the US. And yet how many mauling deaths by Goldfish are recorded in the world each year? (flying carp don't count, lol)

I would have liked to express just that thought in the survey but I was unable to find a place to do so. People who want to eliminate pets entirely are purposefully vague. In that way they can sneak their agenda through the cracks with little on no interference from the sleeping public. Complacency=scary in my mind. VOTE!

Ha, what about those crazy people that try to swallow a whole goldfish on a dare? Or when drunk. :roflmao:

I voted yes. But I think that they are just too broad to be that simple of a queston.

Yeah, the average Joe will think of lions and tigers and bears. So of course the deck is stacked there. But I voted YES, of course, and posted the link over on FC.

Thanks for the heads up, Walter...

I voted yes, but I agree that 'exotic' has a broad definition and I wouldn't necessarily agree with the average person keeping large cats or primates.

I voted yes merely because this is not a scientific poll and has no legal bearing...but I'd rather not give any media source any further ammunition to be able to attack the keeping of snakes.

The good news is the "yes" has been rising quite quickly from the first time I seen this poll (when it had around only 2,000 votes for yes), and the "no" has remained stagnant around 11,500.
