Substrate

I use shredded aspen. The carpet would work as long as you have a couple so that you can swap them out to have a clean one in the viv while the other is getting washed.

Yeah aspen, my corn was on aspen most of her life, whenever she has been on paper towel she burried underneath it, which made a MESS of her cage :D

Aspen Pellets?

Has anyone used Aspen Pellets as a substrate? I am using it for my mice and absolutely love it. Right now I am using newspaper for the snakes but they like going under it instead of on it :(

Thanks,
Jeff C.

Are the aspen pellets like that peletted newspaper stuff? I like that bedding too, but it's more expensive than the aspen.

the aspen chips which i use is provides for an easy burrow so long as its not compressed when u put it into the tank just break it off the block and shake it into the tankprovides darkness from the light and it forms to your snake as well so that he has a tunnel that he will use . some folks shy away from it because of the danger of the feeding problem .
