Another corn on the way

Well for a background, I live in southern louisiana, somewhat in the " country " not really in neighborhoods, lots of windy back roads, houses on 3 acre lots etc etc. Well in the past 2 monthes I have to my great dissapointment come across 5 dead corns on the road, 4 of which were over 4 feet long. 4 were dead on arrivals, and the 5th had a broken spine 10" from the head ( this snake was 5" maybe a little longer ) . The snake was found on the shoulder of the road, thrashing its head ( thats how I noticed him ) after closer inspection I knew he would'nt live, 8 or more broken ribs and a broken spine. I put the snake out of his misery, which really made me feel bad , but I knew it had to be done.

Well late yesterday pn my way home on a windy road, low and behold, what do I see, A SNAKE, I jumped out the car an to my amazement is was a 2 1/2 foot BEAUTiful cornsnake, no dings on the scales, mites , wounds, tail scars, NOTHING. The snake didnt rattle a tail, strike, nothing. I just couldn't release him, not after seeing all those DOA corns. I wish I could post a picture, but I can't so I'll describe him the best I can. SHE is 28" , about as big around as a nickle, bright red, thick black borders, and a bright orange body. Clean checkers on the belly. Really reminds me of an OKEETEE!!!! This snake looks great, the best normal louisiana corn I've ever seen.

I'll try feeding her next week and give yall an update then.

PEACE ~JASON~
