have you ever had dreams of snakes?

well, over the last few days, iv been dreaming of snakes. like, my first night, i had a dream i was outside at night with my brother, when i found a snake. it was shedding, and the part that was un-shedded was kind of "see-through". i was kind of scared to pick it up b/c i dident know what kind it was.
the next night, i had another dream that my parents finnaly gave in and said i could get a snake. my snake came in the mail, and out of nowhere a tank ready to be used appereared in the kitchen.
finnally, last night i had a dream i found a snake in my backyard, along with birds i could catch in mid air. when i saw the snake at first i thought it was a bug, but then i noticed it was a snake head, but it was moving! :-puke01: i went into the kitchen to tell my parents, and guess what? my pet snake was still there! cool or what?!
what do all these dreams mean? :shrugs:

i've had a dream about my snake before. in it she had regurged a mouse and then the mouse (which was mor elike a rat) came alive, so i thought "wow this guy is a fighter..i'll let him go" so i try to let him go and he bit me and i was bleeding everywhere. then my snake regurged two more mice but they were dead and i was getting really scared she might die..then my dream ended..lol i'm weird i know

Funny you mention that, I had a dream about a corn snake myself the other day, and I have yet to get mine. It was shedding, matter fact I think it shed twice in the dream.

this could easily turn into one of the funniest threads on this forum. lol. I had a dream that my snake (rio) bit my dog and my dog foamed at the mouth and died... other than that, i can't say much more about snake dreams

well i just got my first corn last weekend.on tuesday night i woke up suddenly and said to my partner"dont move there's a snake on the bed" i was sleep talking or whatever you want to call it,needless to say my partner wasn't to happy and was unable to get back to sleep for the rest of the night.....
it gets worse wednesday night i do excactly the same thing..i am now on final warning any more outbursts the snakes out.. lol women never understand :)

I only did that once..... when one of our snakes DID get out of bed and crawled into bed with us. 4 am. "Honey," I say, "There's a snake in the bed with us". He jumped out so darn quick! Flipped the light on and sure enough, our snake JESTER was in the bed with us, curled up nicely between our pillows. It was only my shifting that put my hand in contact with him, and he felt slightly different than hubby!

Sasheena- did you think your hubby had taken viagra.
anyway I had a nightmare about snakes recently.I have been catching alot of eastern kings lately and always in the back of my mind I'm hoping to catch an albino or some other unusual morph. Well in the nightmare I had found several kings that did not look quite right and I was afriad to pick them up(I ussualy just grab wild snakes before they can get away).Well I saw an albino king(or whatever it was) and agian it did not look right, but I grabed it anyway and it bit me. As I pulled it off I noticed two large fangs. Then I woke up in a sweat. lol
I usualy would not talk about a dream I had. because I don't want to add to the already prevailing opinion that I'm nuts lol. But this is a kind of silly thread and just to much fun.

well hopefully no ones mate is scared of snakes in the bed!

Its wierd but this year and last year I got a bad dream about my eggs a few days before they were due. Probably because I was thinking about them so much  both times it was a nightmare, (i lost them, they died or hatchlings looked sickly or whatever) then my eggs turned out to hatch perfect! :eek1:

another dream last night! i had a dream i was at some kind of camp, looking for snakes. i found a snake under a chair, and i reached out to catch it. wheni got it, it swerved back an bit my hand. i had a mark where the two fangs hit me, and they were very far apart. then later on i found snakes no longer than my pinky. they were black and white. its really weird

Last night's dream was very interesting....
I was looking at a list of "Serpenco" Snakes hoping to buy one. There was one that was a yearling and I really wanted it. It was labeled at $60 and I could buy that snake, or two hatchlings. But I really badly wanted it. Finally I got up the courage to buy it, when I noticed the price had gone UP to $400. I emailed Rich (in my dream) and asked him "what gives" and he showed me a picture of a white snake with pastel smears and said, "This hatched out from one of her eggs! A pastel smeared piebald. How can I sell her for $60 when she has such potential! In my sleep I was so disgruntled, with myself and with Rich.... me for not buying it before this momentous discovery, and Rich for breeding a yearling... then I said to him, "is that a cornsnake?" and he laughed (in the dream) and responded... "No, of course it isn't.... she's a Bull Snake/ Cornsnake crossed with a Rattlesnake. I thought you knew."
Bizarre dream. So of course I ran into the living room after I woke, hoping that my eggs that have been due for some time were hopefully hatching, or that my girl that is preparing to double clutch has finally laid.... and nope.
Snakes on the brain!

I have had a few bad dreams about snakes that were more like water vipers... Rough scaled and bad tempered....
But last night I had a dream about a clutch of baby snakes.... Butter motleys and hets for it. I had the hatchlings in a single container and had taken them somewhere to be sold. When I went to dig through them to show the potential buyer the butters had dark brown/black blotches. This made me very nerveous and uncomfortable... what happened to my beautiful snakes? Well...l they had been burned. I had set down the container on top of a puddle of sulfuric acid that was on his table. It had gone into the container and badly burned the snakes. Those poor butters looked like popcorn that had been in the microwave too long.
Dreams are weird and I never put much stock into them. They are so full of symbolism and mixed messages. I believe that a dream about a shedding snake is a good thing. Shedding old skin symbolizes growth and development. Out with the old and in with the new. Being bitten by a snake can't be a good message. I would equate this with a need for caution and patience. A snake bites when it isn't ready to be handled. But I would put most of our snakes dreams on OCD, snakes on the brain!

I had a dream recently that my eggs were hatching and little hatchlings were slithering away everywhere I looked. I was getting frusterated because no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't catch them all. The best part was that they were all sorts of different morphs and I could understand how I got all these different morphs. It was crazy.

whats weird is, in my one dream i was seeing birds, which is supposed to be a very good omen. but then i saw a snake, which can be a bad omen. what would this mean?
07-05-2004, 07:35 PM
snakes are not a bad omen, snakes only mean change in dreams for interpretations. So if your afraid of change I guess that would be a bad omen for you :)

don't worry about it. Maybe we should all take those hardcore sleeping pills for sleeping so that we can't remember our dreams and maybe that will solve the problems

Since we do Snake avoidance training for dogs, we have rattlesnakes at the house a few times a year when the snake handler brings his. Occasionally I'll have dreams about trying to catch the rattlesnakes that have gotten loose or something. They of course, have never gotten loose, and I really think they are an awesome animal, but it's not something I want crawling around the livingroom :)

a dream i had a long time ago was where i "went" to Rich's house and went into a room full of snakes in deli cups. All of his hatchlings i assume. He told me he wanted to grab a surprise for me and to follow him. Wherever he stepped the deli cups disappeared but when i followed they came back. I tried to be careful but i smushed a little snake and he said that instead of the opal stripe bloodred he was going to give me i had to take the dead one home =(

About 4 months ago my friend bought a corn and i fell in love, week later I was buying my own. I sould tell you I had never touched a snake before that week and they did give me the heebie geebies. The entire next week after buying my corn Casper I had nightmares of being bitten by random cornsnakes. One night they bit me in a grocery store. Weird huh? Anyways the last dream I had Casper bit me and I said "wow, that didn't even hurt!" Woke up the next day and without any fear of them at all. Now I just ordered my second corn (bloodred) form Rich.

Once I had a dream where my female got out of her cage and started laying eggs all around my room, the babies began to hatch and were all kind of different colors, then I tried to grab as many of them as could so they wouldn't get away....but no matter what I did I couldn't catch any of them. =(

A while ago, about 5 or 6 months ago, I had a horrible dream about my snake Spyke. I couldn't tell you details now, but at the time, i had only had him for about 4 or 5 months and i was completely in love with him. I had wanted a corn snake since i was a little child and i finally had one of my own. I played with him everyday (except the 48 hrs after feeding) and was so proud to call him mine. Then one night i had a dream that brought me to tears. I dreamt that somehow he escaped from his tank and got outside and someone found him and without thinking, killed him. And by killing i mean chopped his head off with some kind of shovel :crying: Well....needless to say, i woke up crying and immediately jumped out of bed and looked for my beloved Spyke in his cage. Sure enough he was there resting peacefully, but i was so terrified that i couldn't go back to sleep and told my mother the whole dream, fighting back tears. I believe that was the worst dream i have had in years. :crying:

I'm still giggling about the dream I had in which I was having my snake measured up for his very own jet pack. As you do.

I think the dreams are personally trying to scare you! And i had a dream just like yours exept it was a cobra in my cousins backyard trying to attack me and my cousins but i was perfectly safe!
actually, nearly all my nightmares involve snakes, but never my nice dreams
best not to analyse this

The thing is the symbols in your dreams don't really mean what in reality you think it is, each symbol has a different meaning and context explains alot. So just because something you may think is bad is not a bad thing.
