2004 Hypo Lavenders and Hets

These guys just started to hatch out. The hets from this line are very pretty, with great color. Here are two shots of the babies as well as a shot of a sister from last season who I held back. Thanks

The pair I got from mike last year are sure turning out nice. They Hypo Het Lav is the nicest Standard Hypo that I have!

Mike,
Can you tell the sex of the Hypo Lav by looking through the bottom of the tail like amels and snows? I was wondering if you produced any “Cotton Candy” type females.

I should be able to tell the sex by looking "through" the tails. There are only four or five out of the egg so far and I didnt even look at them yet. I am hoping for the best. Thanks. Mike

You are as bad as I am. The poor things are only minutes old and we are taking pictures of them already. We are not excited are we!

Like expecting parents!!!! So far it looks like Im getting more hets than anything. I do see several pink heads poking through though. I also have a double clutch to rely on. After your post I looked at the two CC's and they were both MALES of course, LOL. Man, after my Anery bloodreds hatched out and now these, I am starting to believe that male cornsnake theory. Thanks for the kind words by the way. I'll keep you posted.

There were a few nice females this time around

I think this one is a female. I didnt pop them yet. I like to wait until after they have shed. By looking "through" them, I think I have a couple of nice looking females out of this clutch. Im pretty happy about that. Check out this girl. She didnt shed yet. A nice Cotton Candy Hypo Lav.

Congratulations!

It makes since that female Cotton Candy Lavenders could be produced. The Odds Gods have been playing tricks on breeders of Hypo Lavenders for quite some time.

Great looking babies Mike. And that yearling hypo is a beauty. Just love those colors it has. Good job!

Hmmm....so you getting lots of males this year? I thought it was only me, most of mine seem to be hatching out as males so far. I'm hoping some of the next clutches will even out the male/female overall ratio, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
