newbie on killing mice

i'm starting to get my snake in a few days does anyone have any advise on how to kill the mice cause i was thinking of putting them in a plastic bag while there alive and then putting them in the freezer. Could you pleeeeeze help me!

hit them in the head with something or hold them by the tail and hit them on the table. when done right, it's instant death so no suffering but if ur not a whacker then i guess the freezer thing would work

If you do a search on this forum you'll find lengthy discussions.
1) Freeze alive. Not recommended for hoppers and adults ok for pinkies and fuzzies. possibly inhumane depending on who you ask. good for lots of mice.
2) Cervical dislocation. Place an object firmly at base of skull, elevate rear of mouse by tail. Give a sharp jerk on the tail to break neck. can take practice to do correctly. the first time I tried this the mouse spasmed, flopped onto the floor then twitched a few times and died.
3) Hit it in the head very hard with something. can be messy.
4) Put it in a bag or sock. Swing it around fast then hit a table or wall. this was easiest for me since I don't need a lot mice.
5) CO2. Buy dry ice or a paintball CO2 tank. rig it up so the CO2 fills a container from the bottom and pushes air out the top. good for killing lots of mice. more construction details can be found searching the site.
6) if you're squeamish, you may be able to find an electric mousetrap online.
Since you have one snake, everything but the CO2 would be easiest.

thanks for advise.i may use the mouse trap since i'm not really into whacking them and having blood in the situation.

i have a better idea. what i do is put them ina brown paper bag and wack it against the wall easy and simple.

this is probably one of my favorite subjects. I have hated all live mice since one bit one of my snakes. Directly after that, i moved to frozen. But anyway, if i were you (and depending how big the mice are) just break their necks. No blood, and fast death. you could use a sock or a bag and bang them against the wall (sounds kind of funny) but that can get bloody with the smaller mice.

true, i've been doing it for a lil over a year now and i have a technique that seems to snap the neck and/or just stun the mouse w/o the mess but sometimes there's that slip that results in a pretty messy situation.
