Sleepless in NY
now i feel like a total idiot. i have been reading books and care sheets and facts etc. for quite some time, before i decided to finally get a corn snake. now that i have one, i still have a lot of questions un answered, and feel like a total "know-nothing" LOL....if the viv gets too warm(its usually on 82 degrees) like let's say on a hot day out, and it's already hot as Heck in the house, can i ever, or is it even recommended to,turn the UTH off?

hiya mbrown :wavey:

Personally I turn the UTH off for a few hours during particularly hot days, I do that because I feel I should, just as I mist or whatever. I don't know if it is the 'DONE' thing but I'm sure you will get plenty of advice on this.

'feel like a total idiot' DON'T .. you don't know what the question will be till you hit the problem.

'feel like a total idiot' DO .. only if you feel you never need to ask questions (cos you know it all etc)

thank you

Personally on those types of days when the temp is hot all around I (like marg) will turn the heat off for a couple of hours. When my corns are submerged in their cool-side water dishes for a period of time on those hot days thats telling me something.
