Whats a good price for pinkies?

Hi
I was wondering where most people get their bulk supply of mice for reasonably cheap. My pet stores sell them for about $1.30 for one frozen pinky! I thought that was a bit exspensive and I will have to buy around 100 frozen pinkies at a time. Do you get them from the internet? or just at reptile shops? If any one can recomend a good site or place where I can order them from, that would be great!:) I live in Canada so I don't think I can order them from the states... lol. Well, if anyone replies thanks in advance!!

I get mine from a reptile shop but it only costs me about 10p per pinkie. Im not sure how that works out in dollars but Im sure its way cheaper! Ive seen people mention Cajunmice.com (not sure if that's the right url). But maybe that is a US site so would be difficult for you. Why dont you try searching on the web? Try altavista.com. Its a search engine and will find sites for you. Hope that helps!

I get 100 for $25 at a reptile show in the neighborhood.
$1.30 each sounds like too much!
Some sites that I have heard good things about are Rodentpro.com, CajunMice.com, and BigCheeseRodent.com.You may want to email them to make sure they deliver to Canada.

Hey thanks for the help

I looked around at some of the prices ... do you think 45$ is a good price for 100 pinkys. I am probably being to picky but I am jsut wondering. If it comes to worse I will pay over a hundred just for 100 pinkies:eek: lol well thanks again!

Pinkies Please ~~~~~:~

I do the same thing as Iris. I also noticed that the green and yellow Fauna board to our right high lights a frozen rodent site. Sam ~~~~:~ Iris maybe I'll see you at the show this Sunday.

lol I promised myself I would just pop in, get the mice, and pop out, but with all the wriggly new hatchlings that are BOUND to be there....well I don't know if I will be able to.

My mom's getting a bit tired of driving to the shows (it's like 40mins~an hour depending on traffic and stuff) and she hates snakes so she waits in the car. I might just start ordering from Rodentpro soon

Sam, are you planning on getting any new additions? A ball python, perhaps?

PINKIES?

Hiya all.

I breed my own so dont have any probs in that department,i have 3 colonies of 4 females to 1 male and i get about 30 to 40 pinkies a month and about a dozen fizzies because i dont remove all pinkies.

A VERY P***** OFF HERPER.............STEVE.

P.S if your wondering why i'm p***** check out my "PLEASE READ THIS" posting.

Rodentpro.com has pinkies for sale at $0.18 each. They have excellent product and terrific customer service. You won't be sorry trading with them!

I was all set to order from them but then I saw the shipping charges cost the same price as the mice I needed.
So now my mom is making the drive to the reptile show. It's only 45ish mins away and I promised to pay her for gas and labor. :)

...breeding pinks.....

Thanks For all your help guys!!! Since I am not anywhere close to any shows I don't think I will be getting pinks from there. I found a good site for buying pinks mice4you.com its really good and its been getting really good ratings! But ... just to keep the option open I was wondering if anyone could give me info on keeping and breeding my own mice colonies? Snakemanone..... do you have any care sheets or extra advice to give? sorry to hear about your snake : o ( Thanks again and sorry to rambling on and on and on............. ;)

Kristy

Sorry about your loss~~~~~:~ :0(

Snakemanone. Really sorry to hear about your loss. I think everyone has some pretty good points that I have seen expressed before on this site, the cost of a mouse even at $1.69 each is not worth the health of our snakes. The hard thing is when we learn a lesson the hard way, been there done that! Right now my Beanie girl isn't too happy and I can't figure out why so we'll be off to the vets.

Iris if you see a drooling mom with a shirt on like this one below that will be me. (at the ny show) Spencer won't be with me, he's being dragged to Vermont. (just kidding) But he has stated in NO uncertain terms am I to bring back any more snakes. He's the only one that knows when I hide them under the bed. Can you imagine a snake lovin kid that tells his mom not to get any more!? He's into quality not quanity. Got to love him. Sam ~~~~~:~

That is one cute shirt. I'll be sure to say hi if I see you. I'd tell you what I'm going to wear but I'm bound to change my mind at least 3 times (yes, 3 is the minimum) before I leave so I'll just have to look for you I guess. :)
Wow, I wish I had Spencer's self control and "quality not quantity" ideals. But I don't. :D What a tragedy..! ;)
My mom won't stand for any more either. She also insists she is going to wait outside in the car while I go and buy the mice.
