Synchronized snakes

I own 8 snakes and 6 of them are in high blue right now. Does anyone else notice this in their collection? The 2 that aren't blue are one that shed a few days ago and one that I only bought 2 weeks ago so she wouldn't have had time to synchronize (BTW, she shed a week ago).

Is it all a big coincidence or should I call Mulder and Scully?

Must be coincidence, enjoy it. I have 15 snakes and never have more than 2 at a time in the blue. I would welcome a week "off" by having them all in the blue. LOL

lol, i own 4 snakes and they all seem to go in blue around the same time too. about a month ago my baby shed then a week later the other 3 all went blue and and they shed within a time period of 12 hours. :D

I'll be darned....this just happened to me today as I was spot cleaning vivs. Anery just shed, and both amels are in blue. Timing is everything.

regards,
jazz

Normally I don't have anymore than two at a time in blue together. But this winter-spring (December - now) I've had 5 snakes that are on the same shed schedule for the most part. They go into blue within a day of each other and then shed on the same day or a day apart.

And whats weird is, they're all different ages..adults to 04's. =P

Generally I'd just rack it up to coincidence, but now..I dunno. I'd call Mulder, he'd be more apt to believe in something behind it all. ;)

I do tend to find in my collections that they do go into shed at the same time.

Even now, I house a corn and a milk snake next to each other (separate cages) and they have gone into the same shed cycle, even though they were not shedding at all at the same time to begin with.

If it is coincidence, I am seeing lot of it.

The reason I was wondering was because if you have a group of girls living together (as in a sorority or bording school dorm) you find that the girls cycle together based on that of the 'dominant' female. So in humans (or other primates) The highest socially ranked female will dictate the menstrual patterns of the less high ranked females. I was wondering if this works this way also in herps...but it might be a long shot seeing they're generally solitary animals...but you can never underestimate the power of pheromones.
