shedding, should i wet my snake

I've heard this before and i was just wondering if i should wet my snake in water cause i think he will be shedding its skin in a few days ( blue and cloudy eyes). How do you do this?? spray water all over his body?
i was also wondering if its normal that my snake is really nervous during this time of shedding, so its not possible to handle my snake and put it directly into his water bowl...

thanks,
RaiseD

You don't really have to do anything unless you think he won't have a good shed. If he wants to get in the water bowl he will. If you don't think you have enough humidity then add an appropiate size container with a lid, cut a hole in the lid and put damp moss or paper towels inside. He will get in the container if he needs the xtra dampness. They do get nervous when they are getting ready to shed. I leave mine alone during this time.

Hi,
I agree with Alicia about the moss and that the snake will go in the water if it needs more humidity.
I think that the reason that it's more nervous at shedding time is that with the eyes going milky it can not see as well.

Well, they don't always go in the water as much as they should when they're shedding. My snake always has a bowl of water large enough for him to coil up and soak in, but still on occasion has bad sheds. Back in March (I think) he had a really terrible shed that came off in lots of pieces. The weather had been really dry for awhile then. I'd even given him a couple of baths in the tub. If you want to help your snake out a bit without putting him in the water, then you can mist the tank by spraying water into it a couple times per day while he's in shed.
