size breeding question

Does anyone wonder about breeding corns for size? I mean, I am not one of those people who wants to push an animal genetically so I end up with a 12 foot corn, but does anyone breed the BIG guys and gays who push 6+ feet? And what have you found with their offspring? this same size?

Also has anyone experiemented with females who have never breed and female who have and the resulting sizes differances etc?

Just curious. Everything is so color dependant....:)

what the.....

Okeetees get pretty large for corns. In the 5'+ range, and I suspect that on occasion one might run into a 6' foot specimen, but it is probably rare. You could try steroids LOL. And no, I don't know of anyone who breeds corns for size. Ask Rich.
:D

Breeding for size, eh? That sounds quite interesting.
I think that, with first-time breeders, instead of smaller hatchlings, you just get fewer of them. But, then again, older breeders are generally more healthy during that whole process so I suppose that they could produce quite large babies if thats how it works.

hi

I realize that Okeetees get large for corns, 5-6 feet.

But not many adult corns reach that 6 foot mark. Most of the adults I have seen are around 4-5 feet, 5 being tops for most *I* have seen.

I was just curious if anyone does any other breeding than for color. :)
