curious question about a rat species

For you that live in us.
Does natal rat (Praomys natalensis) exist in us?
Does you that breed mice/rats have them?

Never heard of them before.

All I've heard of people having are either Norway rats (Rattus norvegicus) or Roof rats (Rattus rattus).
 
I hate to say that I saw one in my backyard last fall that looked just like that. Very sleek and not "ratty" until I saw the tail. We have so many introduced species it could have been one.
