kinked spines

I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday, who just hatched out some amel. corns, and he said he had one snake in the clutch that had a kink in this backbone. I told him sometimes that happens in corns and other colubrids when the incubation temps. are too high for extended periods of the embryo's development. He said he kept the temp at about 81` for the duration of the incubation. What other possible reasons are there for this problem, is there anything that can be done to prevent it, and what do you do with the snake. I know you don't even want to consider breeding the animal, assuming it even lives that long.

I dont know about the other stuff, but you can sell it to someone not interested in breeding and just wants an unuusual pet

Yes, I've heard that too high incubation temps are usually the culprit although it can also be genetics.
If it eats and poops fine, it could make a great pet for someone. If it seems to be in pain or has trouble with basic functions, your friend should probably get it put down.

Was this snake hatched with the kink??
I have a snake( an Anery) that I bought about 18 months ago. It was perfectly normal looking, had it poped and was told it was a female. About 1 month after I gor her I notice a kink right above the cloaca. I figured that the breeder who poped it did something wrong and did some damage. But, she was moving,eating,shedding and pooping regularly so I didn't think twice about it.
As time went by Her entire back became like a mountain range. From about 1" behind her head to the tip of her tail is nothing but kinks.
Everyone I spoke to including a Vet. told me to put her down. But, she does not seem to be in any pain and she does everything normally so I decided not to put her down. I just will NEVER breed her.
