My Mother has a black snake in her garden! (I'm jealous!)

My Mother called today to tell me she found a large black snake in her garden. She wasn't sure what kind of snake it was and when she got a broom to shoo it away it was gone!

She lives in Pinehurst, NC. I think it was a black racer, black rat or perhaps a pine snake. Does anyone else have any ideas? I asked her to get a picture if she sees it again. (Actually, I asked her to catch it, but that's NOT going to happen! LOL)

I used to have a very cool website bookmarked that listed all of the snakes of a state with pictures. Does anyone have a site like that bookmarked?

Thanks all!
