I use large sterilite containers for my <1year snakes. They are pretty wide and long but not very tall (38qt). Is this acceptable? I know corns are semi-arboreal snakes. Does it matter if they cannot climb very much?

Corn snakes do not need tall cages. Floor space is the most important factor. Most breeders use small boxes and their corns do fine. However, if you snake can climb just a little... I'm sure it will be happier. Exactly how tall is a 38 qt.? Sounds pretty big.

Thank you for the info. I just wanted to be sure I was not jeopardizing the snakes well being while trying to save a couple of bucks. I feel that my snakes accomidations are not as good as some of yours that I have seen but at the same time I do not feel like I am running a sweat shop here.
A (38 qt) container is about 2.5 feet long and 1.5 feet across.
