Just wondering how long Dominoes eyes will be blue, they been that way for 3 days now. Im not worried about him Im sure hes fine. Im just curious as to how long (anxiously waiting actually). He just doesnt move around much cuz he cant see very well.

My snake is usually like that for 2-3 days before she goes back to normal, then after that, she sheds :)

one more thing... Should I get him a rock or something rough to break the skin on his nose? He has a log but im not sure if that will work. He has been using the screen on top of his viv.

I'm not sure if it's necissary, but it wouldn't hurt would it? Just make sure its clean. Oven for an hour, or boiling water is what I would do to it. If you use bleach, don't use anything with added fragrance. ;)

As long as it's humid enough, your snake will be fine. Legoless once shed after nosing the shoulder of my nightgown, and trust me...that's not a rough texture! :)

We buy pieces of red coral/rock at Petco. I think they're processed into a circular shape, so we break them into smaller pieces after boiling them. They are easy enough to clean, just boil them again, if they get soiled. But they work like a charm and each snake gets one.

Shed

McKeldin had cloudy eyes for 2-3 days. They started on a Wednesday. He shed the following Monday. All I have in his viv is the log hide, water bowl, and some fake climbing stick that he never uses and I think I'm going to remove and his shed was in once piece. In fact, he went round and round the water bowl so the skin circled the bowl, and then at the end trailed off into the hide log.

thanx for the advice guys.. I guess its just a (patiently) wait and see process. So Ill just leave him alone and wait til he sheds. Im watching him closely hoping to get pics of his first shed.

Energi2er as long as you have a branch or bark/cork board for hiding the shed will go fine, mine all seem (when i've seen them) to start the shed on the underside of their bark hides. In this pic, the old "skin" usually ends up round the brance after starting under the bark hide.
