So what's the general rule on handling after feeding?

I've read in places that it's best to leave 'em (snakes, no specific species) 24 hours or so after feeding before handling...

Is this good? More time? less time?

I'd say forty-eight hours to give them time to digest most of it so they don't regurgitate. Personally, I don't hold them until they have defacated which is usually three days after feeding. There are two reasons that I do this:
1- I don't want to harm the snake in any way.
2- I don't want to be crapped on. Lol.

#1 most definitely
#2 LOL I totally agree.. I've had an adult male beardy crap down my T-Shirt (and hence dribbling down lower) and it's not a pleasant experience. I should imagine a corn's poop would be just as unwanted on my person.

Thanks :)

^^^ It all depends on how often you are feeding the animal. Feeding too much can cause a shorter life span, often called Speed Feeding, used to make the herp grow faster. I'd say 2-4 days after eating the animal should crap, if not, a nice warm bath usually helps. Remember 1 thing though, if the water feels warm to you its usually to warm for them, so try to keep it a lil below the level. Its hard to decide what temp would be right but the animal will def let you know if its not comfortable.
