A question concerning when to feed

We just got a corn snake last sat and we have fed her once on Sunday. My question is do you wait to feed her again till after you find her poop? We searched all through aspen a little while ago and found nothing. The person we got our snake from says to feed her every 5 days which would be today. When we were looking around she charged at my husbands hand which makes me think she is hungry. Should we go ahead and feed her or wait? If it helps she hatchling. Thanks for the future advice. I just want to make sure we are doing the right thing.

If it's a hatchling, then every 5 days is a good stretch for now. As far as finding poop, you won't always be able to find it. They'll do it while burrowed, so you may only find some dried white powdery looking stuff when doing a full cleaning. That's basically why you need to do full viv cleanings every month or 2, especially for the little ones.

Welcome.
Snakes are opportunist eaters. They will eat every day if you let them. I have mine eating every seven days. But it you miss days or so that ok.Some feed every five days. Some folks say that's power feeding ??? But keeping on a schedule is a good rule to follow. "Charging" at your hands is normal for a little guy. He just scared. He'll settle down. Don’t handle for two days after feeding. He might regure if you do.
Just keep on reading the forum and use the search section and you’ll be ok. Ask a question if you can’t find what your looking for.

Good luck

love this web fourm, glad i found you guys.

Haven't seen that info about not handling the snake for a couple days, thnaks. I'm still waiting to picked out a hatchling for myself. I have been browsing the dealers and local breeders and even reptikemarket. Has anyone brought online?

I'm not sure what a "dealer" is but I for what I understand ,buy from a breeder or online breeder (shipping is costly).

http://www.serpenco.com/shop/customer/ or http://cornutopia.com/ are some of the top breeders there is hundreds more.
Good luck
