ok i know all you people out there are going to be mad but i searched for about an hour and came up with no useful information.

I am thinking of getting another snake could i put them together in the same viv or is cannibilism to big of an issue?

No, not mad at you. There is so much information in the forum from previous posts, sometimes its hard to know where to look. There were several threads recently and Kathy Love wrote a great FAQ on it too.
Use the search function (above) and look for "cohabitation" .

an hour???

there have been like 5 new topics on this very subject in the past week or so.

and probably about that many every week before that. The last time somebody asked about this, I searched for "housing together" and came up with pages upon pages of threads about this subject.

you know.. presonally before i start posting questions i red through a lot of threads and glean a lot of info.. then i make my questions more specific if i don't find everything i need. But sometimes searching can be frustrating and its easier just to post a question and get feedback.. isn't that what a forum is for anyway? So you can just ask a questoin instead of having to search? I mean, anyone can search the internet and find almost any info they need, but i join forums so i can just post a question and get answers and presonal experience wihtout having to do searches.

Isn't cannibalism a big enough issue???

I don't think owners like you or me have enough experience to houses snakes together.

That's true, BUT it goes a little further than that. I know you're new to this forum, so you'll provide the perfect example of what's being said here. Even though you haven't been around here that long, I'd be willing to bet that you've seen at least one of the similar threads over the past week about this exact same topic. It's not even completely an issue of being able to search as it is an issue of paying attention to the questions that are being asked on a daily basis anyway. I've got no problem with new people because everybody has to start somewhere, and since it was brought up before, I don't have a problem with younger people either (I wish I would've gotten into this a lot sooner than I did. I didn't get my first snake til I was 21). What I and a lot of other people on here seem to have a problem with are the relatively few people that come on here and seem to be helpless when it comes to looking for or doing things for themselves. Having said that, in the past two weeks, you and one other new corn owner have sent me messages on AIM and asked some questions. That's great, I have no problem with that because there are some things that are either too small or too obscure to really need a thread dedicated to them. Both of you had clearly done research before IMing me and whoever else you may have gotten ahold of. Some people, however, come into this seemingly completely blind to anything having to do with keeping animals of any kind. And I can only speak for myself, but I'm not biased against new people, but I am biased against irresponsible people.

:-offtopic There may be a few reasons for questions asked that have been asked and answered before. Some people are actually that busy that they cannot afford an hour to sort through a seemingly endless amount of threads and then there are others like me that just are not that computer literate, I remember when I first got on the internet, I was a blind bambi (no idea). :sidestep:

IMO, forums are a great tool to help share experiences and information to like minded people of similar interests. We all have to start at the beginning and learn from scratch. :wavey:

I dunno... my $.02:

1. If you don't have time to research your pet's care, maybe you shouldn't get one. You also should do most of your research before you even bring it home. Kathy Love's book covers about 98% of everything you need to know about corn husbandry. Between her book and existing threads, 99.9999% of all care/husbandry questions are covered.

2. What takes more time, browsing search results, or waiting for members to post replies?

3. If you are sufficiently computer savvy to register and post on this board, you should be able to click on the big "Search this Forum" text button and use the functions.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I'm entitled to my opinions.

Don't get me wrong here, I totally agree with all that you said, just offering an outside view 'cause I know I suck when it comes to using a computer.
