Exo Terra Vivs

We're thinking about getting an 18x18x24 exo terra tank for our corn snake and were wondering if you guys would recommend or not recommend it...it's on sale currently so it'd be nice to know your thougts asap. ;)
I would recommend you go with a viv that gives you more floor space to stretch out. Something between a 20 long and a 40 gal. Your corn will probably get to be about 48", twice the length of the viv. If it's temporary it'll work, but I think you'll be disappointed (and he'll be cramped) down the road.

Corn snakes are largely terrestial and thus will require more floor space than what the Exo Terra viv offers. The minimum for an adult corn snake is a 20 gallon long (30" x 12" x 12") tank. Of course, more space is better so if you can go for bigger, I'd suggest doing so. :)

I currently have one of the 20 long All-Glass Critter Keepers for my yearling snake. It's quite nice with the locking, sliding screen lid and makes a nice display in my living room. Eventually my snakes will be in Vision enclosures, but that will wait until they've grown up a bit more. I would recommend one of these over the Exo Terra for a corn snake.

A Prime example would be my Amel Striped corn, she was in a normal tank at first. Every time i'd take her out she was calm and relaxed, even in the tank herself she was calm. I bought a exo terra and the opening on the front she became very stressed, bashing her face on the door, she looked to be hurting herself baddly. When you go in on their level they feel threatened.

I think Exoterra tank looks great, but, is very small for a snake.

Do someone else think, like newt, that front doors stress snakes more than top one? I saw somewhere that natural predators for snakes are birds, so, they should be affraid when your hand come from beyong, not from a front door.

I think the size of the tank is the weak point, even if my snake like to climb more than crawl, a larger tank is better.

I have two snakes in Sterilite tubs and two snakes in vivs that open from the front. I have never noticed any of them stressing out when their cages are opened. They all come toward the opening looking very curious. In the hypos case, he's just curious how I taste though lol.
