Hope this may help some of you, i built my own incubator and the materials needed are as follows,

1....polystyrene box (free from aquarium centers)
1....fishtank heater/thermostat (about 20 pound)
1....powerhead pump(to circulate water so as to avoid hot spots, about 10 pound.
1.....12"x12" glass or perspex( about 2 pound).

What i did was first cut a hole in the lid of the box about10"x10", then about 8" from the bottom on the inside placed a piece of wire (from an old firegaurd)plced 6" of water in it a put the heater and the pump in the water set the temp gauge on the heater to 30 degrees and turn it all on for 1 week b4 use to set temp.oh yeah i used silicon to fix glass over the hole in lid,see pics below....

eggs

hi vannillababe,

I use sphagnum moss but you can use vermiculite, with the moss i soak it for a few mins and then squeez it out as much as i can.
As for the eggs you just have to take them out as soon aftsr laying as pos,she will try and push you away with her coils but percivere try not to turn them too much, hope this is of assistance to you.

GOOD LUCK........................STEVE;)

eggs

Ok Here is what i have done for eggs (not mine) and learned to do! Move her asap even if see puts up a fight, Then take a marker and put a dot on top of the egg (leave it where it was laided) and Carefully move the eggs to their new container without rolling or flipping them around,This is the best method i know of. ;) Good luck! CC
