I've had it with these non producing vermin. Came home from work to find the male and a female chowing down on another females throat, half her face was already gone. They have been together since June and had plenty of food etc. Those that think I'm a monster cause I thump live mice and feed them off, are going to REALLY hate me when I get done with these two! :uzi: :twoguns: :smash: :angry01:

I feel your pain. We went through the same thing trying to make gerbils for picky ball pythons.......Let 'em have it! :twoguns:

That's too bad, and it's got to be frustrating. At least they'll be dealt with in a "humane" way!

Yup! Just about as "humane" as them ripping apart one of their own :grin01:

:roflmao: :roflmao: I am one of the supporters of humanely killing, but it does make you think when these cute, fuzzy little things chomp down on a roomate:eatsmiley: or eat their kids :-puke01:
(Another good excuse for f/t ):sidestep:

Sorry to hear that Mike. How frustrating! I'd been following your posts and hoped the mice were finally behaving for you.

What's up with mice? Nice one minute, then mean buggers the next. If I came home to that, they'd be snake food for sure. :eatsmiley

I'd been thinking how lucky I was to have "nice" mice... no problems with cannibalism or anything in months. Now I've had a couple females (from different colonies) eat their babies. One little male who was friendly (until today) decided to charge over and chomp on my finger a couple times. Well, they better look out, because I don't have lots of patience for that stuff. I enjoy my mice, but if they keep it up, the CO2 tank's waiting for them. They'll be snake food sooner than later.

Bummer! Very strange, Mike. Maybe the Halloween spirit is just with them or something all year round. :shrugs:

I just found a dead male I was raising up for a breeder in one of my tubs as I was pulling pinks. I thought I was missing one, and sure enough found him buried under the litter. Not a nibble off of him.

That's the only time I've ever had adult mouse cannibalization, is if they've been left over a weekend vacation and run out of food and one of them happens to croak. But even then, I'm more apt to find slightly decomposing bodies when I come home to that "smell". :-puke01:

Better luck with the next batch, if you decide to try again.

Yeah, thanks. I'm no quitter :grin01:
I'm over my anger now and of course will not be torturing these guys. However as soon as my Alterna sheds, he's got 2 well fed mice waiting for him. I think it's time to start anew.
