Ok I just, and I mean a few minutes ago just, bought these Pinkies from our local Petstore. I was wondering what your thoughts on them was. I don't want to feed them to my Snake. But my G/F feeder Mice won't produce for some while. I can only hope that "Mommie mouse" will have her babies by Monday.

Those are kind of nasty looking. I don't think I'd want to feed them to my snake either.
 
I would wait till Monday! Those things look horrible. They look as though they've been defrosted and refrozen MANY times. They probably wouldn't kill your snake, but they sure wouldn't be too good for them, either. Can't you go back to the petstore and see if they have any better looking ones?
 
Well thats what all the pinkies looked like. my G/F doesn't think her mice will be producing anytime for Monday. And the bag they were in was filled with air and none of them looked fresh, Plus half if them were iced over or covered in Ice. My G/F agrees they look half rotten, and very sickly looking
 
Oh and thet were 2.00 a pinkie. Makes me wonder if we should get pinkies from the net and use those as backups when our mice arn't producing.....god makes me wonder how much Fuzzies, Hoppers and Adults are.
 
Is there another store you could go to? I don't think I'd go to a store for anything if they sold me feeders like that ~,~
 
Go back and get you money back or better yet get some live one and freeze them.
Were they wrap up or something so you couldn't see them.
They kinda look like potatoes , Ha! No one eatting that tonight!
 
Thats just the thing thats the only petstore here and they don't have any live pinkies. And this pet store has a "No Money back" thing.
 
Gross! Those look like some I've had that the bag was open and they slowly dessicate away over the course of a year in the freezer. :puke01:

For $2/pink I'd be ordering online and getting quality frozen snake food, or at least breeding your own.
 
Yeah, now you know why.
They give you a line that they can't resell in that condition!!
Find another pet store that will to work the you, the customer.
 
What you have is precisely the reason I order over the 'net. I get decent quantities of whatever size I prefer, packaged nicely, and cleanly, and they don't run $2 a pop. I really think shop owners are ridiculous selling pinkies for the same price as a grown adult mouse. Good grief! JMHO... For what it's worth, my friend and I split shipments...it reduces shipping for both of us!

Well you see for $2 a pinkie is a ridiculous up here where there is only 1 petstore.....one healthy mouse great condition for breeding from that same petstore is $3 more.....amazing when I bought my pregnant female there I found it gave me 8 mice (1 mother and 7 babies) for 5 bucks. When I say the bags of hoppers, fuzzies and Adults....I wanted to puke. That was till i saw the pinkies my b/f was handed...I looked at him and asked him if he's feeding that to our Snake. Aparently other Snake owners up actually feed their snakes these same Pinks. :puke01: Sad...Thank God I breed my own.
 
WOW those things look like they came straight from a horror movie that pet store should be closed for letting people take those creations home and letting Innocent snakes eat them

That petstore should be reported to the USDA-one visit from their inspector and they *will* clean their act up (trust me, it works!).....local county extension office should have a contact......if anything I'd report them to the BBB! That's gross................

Your in Yellowknife.. Well I think you are going to have to order them then.. Good luck...Oh wait, you mentioned you were breeding them.. You might become a popular person around there then..

I some day will be a popular feeder breeder up here I hope. theres a few people up here with herps that need food and bulk order it or bye it from the stores and its well "crap" to be honest.
