Thought it might be interesting to see which of your snakes is the most "docile". It was a toss up between my non motley "Blair" and my snow "Flamingo". Flamingo has to be the one hands down, I swear she is completely without anger. She also enjoys the "green bottle" once in a while and "hugs" me tighter than the others. I'm in love :crazy02:

Cornelius (yeah, I know, how original), my '02 Coral Snow is my most docile. He is almost imperturbable. Corina, my '02 female Coral is my second most docile. They are both a pleasure to handle.

Interestingly enough...

My 04 hypo snow is also my most docile. She has been sweet since day one. I picked her up from Joe Pierce at the NARBC show last year.

My yellow rat is most docile, my corns all share second place... though the smallest one is still quite squirmy, but she's only 14 inch tall... my emoryi is third, none of them have ever showed any aggresiveness, except for some tale-rattling by the youngest one in the first month I owned it. Guess she better should be fourth place... fifth is my Blue beauty and according to the pet shop boy my new San Diego Gopher would be like number 8 or so... but I just wait wath happens....

She's also very alert and sticks her nose into everything! She's also been my only snake to feed-bite me; her appetite is huuuuge! A little moment of lessening attention and she didn't wait for her second prey but started to eat my thumb!

I cannot wait to make some pics of my pituophis very soon too! Promised myself to leave it alone for a week, especially 'cause it's supposed to be quite aggressive... but then again; I would get moody in a too small viv without hides if I was a snake...
 
Of all the snakes, probably the new BP, Zith. After all that is why I got him, to have a lap snake :grin01:
Of the colubrids, it's a toss up between Azra my 4 month old snow piggy that I posted perched on my face earlier, and Salmissra the yellow ratsnake x king. Funny enough she is one of only two who has ever bitten me, but now she will curl around my hand or ride around in my shirt pocket. :) Sal doesn't behave too well for the kids however.
 
Yeah, i had some bull snakes years ago, they were quite calm unless the smell of rodent was in the air. They're great snakes to keep, Big and impressive :cool:
Now, let's see you'awls "sweetie corns". :grin01:

:eatpointe Looks like I'm having to eat my own words. I was saving this feeding for the "mean" thread and as usual my snakes refuse to cooperate. Lazarus here, has always tightly coiled up and rattled his tail when i went for him. All he does now are fake strikes at me. It did take about 10 minutes for him to feel secure and stop writhing, but I'm calling this progress! I think he's just a wuss! I find it intriguing that all 3 of my WC's are becoming quite calm. Must be something to those field guides :grin01:
 
Both my babies are great, never had either of them try to be mean! I consider myself lucky! But my normal female likes to be out, my ghost male just tolerates me! LOl

My biggest males are my biggest babies. Hugo and Shiro are sweet as pie and so is Elvis, my male Cali king. I can't leave out Soba, the Children's python and Bumblebee the BP. They are so mellow.

I probably don't give enough credit to the rest, since I don't have time to handle them all regularly. Most of my snakes are polite non-biters and the isolated bites have been my fault. A few musk like mad: the Baird's and my lav albino king. But it's funny, of the five Baird's I have, the two adults are musky and hyper (breeders only), the yearling is good as gold, and the two '05 sisters are night and day (one calm and one musky/hyper).

Go figure.
 
I'd have to say that SneakySnake, my little '05 pet store amel male is the most docile. He'll stay right with me, winding around my fingers while I type, tongue going a mile a minute. He's always 'attached,' so I know where he is even if I'm not watching closely. Truly a sweet little snake.

Treasure is my baby boy hehe... he just sits around and flicks his tongue. Hunter on the other hand... tries to leap out of my hands still hehe.

Here he is, helping me study biology hehe... look at his eyes.. hes studying to =) (he was in blue hehe, but still.. he always sits where I put him now, and just watches me, or the TV)

No doubt about it....my amel is most docile. If he was human, he'd be a beer drinking couch potato.

My most docile cornsnake would have to be a 2003 Amel Motley, named June.

I hatched her out my very first year of breeding, and she was an instant keeper. She never displayed any of the typical hatchling personality traits. She's never bitten, musked, or tail-rattled. She is an aggressive eater, but even with mouse-scented hands, she's never bit or even offered to bite. Most of the time she's out, she's content to sit wrapped around your neck, pony tail, or curled up in your hand.

Runner up would be my giant Snow corn, Freyja. She likes to get into pants pockets or wrapped around bra straps. :rolleyes:
