I take great pride in the group of mice I'm working with. I picked up some mice from Petco two years back, that were white mice from Gourmet Rodent. Well at the same time I also had mice from two other sources, one from a pet store, and another from a fellow snake breeder friend of mine. Well, his mice would produce smaller litters with rex mice, that were usually runty...well I let that line die out, or rather, got fed off with none kept back for breeding. The other pet store mice, my brindle line, I loved their colors, and they produced fast, but got obese real quick too, thus their production wouldn't last long at all. But the Petco mice, from Gourmet Rodent, as I was told by an employee there, were slow to produce compared to these others, but wow do they ever produce! So most of my mice are these white mice. I do maintain the Brindle color, but only one box is set up with that bloodline, just cause I do like that variety. And I did pick up some more "blue" mice from my friend with intentions to cross them with my white line, to see if I can improve on his stuff. But the great majority are these white mice. And here's a photo showing just how well they can produce!!! She's as wide as she is long!! LOL! Poor Momma mouse!

Wow I've heard of pregnant mothers bellies growing huge.....BUT WOW :eek1: thats gigantic...

Your white [albino] mice could be Swiss Webster mice, which were line bred to produce very large litters.

yep...

Yeah,
it's what I thought too, coming from a large company like Gourmet Rodent, I'm sure Swiss Websters are what they are or bred into the group they have. So I do call them the Swiss Webster line, but I don't have any way to truly confirm that they are indeed pure Swiss Websters. But from talking to diff people, they too agree they are just that. But I am trying to get some color to my mice to add variety, but so far the outcrosses just don't perform as well, thus I only have two boxes set up that way.
