Night Bulb

an UTH is an easier option. You really never have to putz with it once you get it to the right temperature.

Is that even a heating bulb or just a black light so you can see them? I can't tell from the description.

when i had permethius, i needed to use a uth and heat bulb all the time, its was a 29 gallon using a 30 gallon uth

Thats weird that the UTH wouldn't get warm enough with out needing to add a heat lamp. I know with out the retrostat my UTH will reach 100*. Are you sure that the UTH is working properly?

I use both as well.
Preita: You are from CA, I am from MN! Big difference in temp. We also have off peak heating, so my room gets down to about 65 at night. Way cold! I have to put blankets on their tanks too.

I lived in MN until 2003 so I understand that kind of cold. I guess I thought that he was going to use them both on the same side of the tank. If I misunderstood then thats my fault :)
