hey i have a under tank heater and was wondering you guys had any sugestions on how to stick it to a piece of tial would just some regular adhesive work ?

I would assume that any adhesive with at least a 120 degree Fahrenheit rating would work. Obviously, the uth is not going to get that hot, but you really do not want an adhesive that would be borderline on the temperature rating (eg. 90-100 degrees).

Kinda what i thought just wanted to double check off to Home Depot i go thanks for your help :santa:

why not just use the sticky side of the UTH? That's what I do and it works fine...no extra adhesive needed, just peel the paper off and go.

Duck tape!

Ditto !!!

Super glue, gorilla glue or the likes give off toxic vapours, especially when heated. Duct tape with a quarter inch overlap on the heat mat works fine.

To make it even easier, I assume the tile is going under the tank with the heat mat sandwiched in between. Why glue it ? Unless you plan to carry the tank around, it won't move anyway.

Is there anything Duct tape won't fix? LOL
Just one suggestion (I have used the Duct tape method) get the more expensive kind -I think they might have a heat rating on the package

Metallic tape works well and is heat rated. Otherwise, I just set it bad sticky side down on the tile and then put it under the viv. It doesn't get moved much, so it pretty much stays in place.

I would have thought that electrically tape would have been the most appropriate? It's made to withstand heat better.

Eletrical tape and duct tape will both "gum up" when heated and cooled....

I didn't want to peel off the paper and stick the UTH on so I used Duck tape and it's still hanging in there. But I do plan on replacing it when I clean the Viv.
