I am new to owning corns so any comments on this set up are welcome. Since this picture, the lighting has a guard, and the thermometer has been moved lower down to get the temperature of the ground level.

Very nice setup, both of you, what is the best rubbermaid containers to use for snake? Thanks for the posts, keep them coming :)

lol no, as long as I don't have the tanks already it keeps me from getting snakes. If I have empty spots, well I must need more snakes! lol

DaemoNox what kind of rubbermaid containers are the best to use? Also where did you get your rack and was it expensive?

Not nearly as exciting, but here is where my two pals live for now...allthough I'm hoping to build custom tanks for both once they get larger (and as time permits).

Matt : I couple hints. #1, i think that light might be a little risky, especially because it's inside the cage. Personally a UTH (under tank heater) would provide a better heat source adn if not possible a lamp outside of the cage. #2 The type of thermometer you have aren't very acurate. For better readings i would suggest getting an indoor/outdoor thermometer that has a probe you can put inside the cage by the substrate. I got mine at Wal-Mart for $12.

p.S. - i'll try and post pics of my setup if i ever get my room clean.

I prefer rubbermaids, however sterilite has a nice 3 foot long blanket box. Sterilite lids are escapable however, so you need to be extra careful about them. The hatchling rack is actually two Reptile Basic racks stacked, which are $159.99 (heating, tubs, and shipping is included).

Here is my temp enclosure, I just got Xantara about 2 weeks ago.

I still have some things to do with the aquarium, but it should look decent by the time I'm done.

Though I would agree that a cheapy ($10 or so) digital indoor/outdoor thermometer is invaluable in checking temps. You can place the probe under the light and the unit at the cool end of the tank.

Ok, I hope the pictures show up, it's the first time I'm doing this :shrugs:

Anyway, this is Sarastro's cage (10 gal.). The right side is her warm side (I also have a heat pad, but it usually only gets the temps up to 78 degrees at nighttime, so I turn on the lamp for half an hour each night to get the temps up to 82 degrees). I also bought Sarastro one of those hammocks, she seems to like it. Before she would try to lie on the sucking cups that attach the plants to the viv walls, but with her increasing weight (I guess snakes gain weight over the holidays too, eh? :santa: ) they would come crashing down. I thought I would try this instead.

This is Mephistopheles' cage (20 gal.). Nothing special here except for the average hides and other decorations.
