I guess I realize now why my little guy (the snake one, that is) has been extra jumpy and difficult to catch and handle - he was pre-shed! Guess I'm just not used to recognizing that condition -

But to back up, gave him his f/t pinkie mouse tonight, which he again, scarfed down like a champ. Tucked him in for the night, knowing that I leave him alone for awhile now.

Well, came back into the room later, and said "what's that weird thing in there?" (I have a moonglow light on sometimes at night). Well it was a perfectly intact shed skin stretching from his hide on one side to the hide on the other side. And he was out.

Very happy that he is doing these things so well - feeling like a more capable snake-mom tonight. :dancer:

Also, you could make a memory book with your son for the snake. You could put pictures of him in it as well as his first shed. That way when your son is older, he can look back and tell all his friends about the baby corn he had and show them its first shed. Sorry for the double post.

It's great to hear things are going well :)

The memory book idea is great Bobo's Mama, I have a similar book for my geckos and I love going through it. Taking lots of pictures helps you see the changes you don't always recognise on a day to day basis (and it makes you feel really proud too :D)
