First some pics of 2 litters born in the same night (16 all together). They have been together in one nest since that night. Only today 1 mommy separated some of the others into another nest but I guess she has her reasons...
Besides showing you them cuties, I have some questions for the mouse genetic's experts; these litters are from a tan/black/white pied mommy x black male with white belly and a wildcolor mommy x white/grey pied male. As you can see, they threw
black/white pieds (maybe with some tan, but that would be on the belly's moslty and I didn't look for it yet),
- wild colored
-wild/white pieds,
-grey/wild/white pieds,
-black/white pieds
-2 black ones with white bellies
-1 grey/white pied.
First Q; I was not really sure about the partner of the pied mommy (could have been the grey/white pied too), but since there are 2 black ones with white bellies I assume the father was a black/white belly one?
Second Q; can I assume all the baby's showing wild color are baby's of the wild color mommy? So all the others are baby's of the pied mommy? That would be a bit strange 'cause then the pied mommy would have thrown only about 5 of the 16 baby's; the last 3 colors mentioned. Maybe someone can put all 6 colors of baby's in a row beneath their suspected parents (copy/paste)? That way I know which are whos so I can registrate their amount of baby's and if I want to keep some, I know which male I can breed them too to prevent inbreeding.
Tnx in advance!
