Just curious, when you browse through a "Photo Gallery", or "Breeding Stock" page on a website and click on a link to a certain snake, do you prefer that full size photos open in an entirely new window, or do you prefer them to open in the same window with a "back" button?
Thanks in advance for any input!

Personally I like the pics opening in a new window. I find this quicker for me as I am still on dial up. :wavey:

Honestly, it doesn't make a big difference to me. I've seen it both ways and haven't had issues with either way. :shrugs:

Doh! I should have put an "It doesn't matter" option. I guess if your choice is "it doesn't matter", just make a quick reply like Zwyatt. Thanks again!

I like it when they open in a new window. Sometimes when they open in the original window I accidentally close it thinking it was a new one, and then I have to find my way back to where ever I was - which is hard because I tend to follow link after link after link. I usually have know idea how I got to any particular website.

JMO :)

I hate pictures that open up in the same window because I always click to close them and lose the site. LOL Creature of habit.

AWW, I'm exactly the same way! Sometimes it's nice to know you aren't the only one. ;)

i'm a big new window fan, and try to force that when i post links/thumbnails. otherwise i'm pretty good at "right click - open in new tab"

New Window for the exact same reasons Mary Beth and Connie stated.

It absolutely annoys me when I accidently close the page thinking it was a new window. =P

Although unlike Mr. Nothing, I haven't mastered the whole thumbnail clicking to the larger image on a new page. The having to make thumbs for all of my pics just seems more work. =P

I use Safari, So I press Command when clicking on a link and it opens in a new tab across the top, Lots of pages in one window.

It is also nice to have them open in a new window if you want to 'compare' photos. And of course, as with everyone else, you don't accidentally lose your place :).

Yeah me too. I really prefer a new window.

I prefer a new window because I use Mozilla Firefox and can click on the link with my scroll wheel and see it in another tab. This is great when viewing multiple pics or links without losing my place on the main page. :)

I guess I'm the only one addicted to my Back button. We have a mouse with the Back feature right on it so I click with my thumb. I don't like new windows because I try to Back and it won't, or I wind up with a hundred windows open that I have forgotten to close. I also have found on many sites that you can only have one new window open at a time, so side by side pics are out of the question. Just my .02.

ABSOLUTELY!! Mike are we both still in the stone age, or do you live as far from civilization as I do?? ROFL

don't wanna sound difficult here but i hate having to click on a link to open up a pic in a new window. it leads to me having to click many more time to see a few pics, and i keep having to close windows when im done viewing them. I have found that that is a huge nuisance after a while.

Thanks for your input! I'm not sure I understand.... Do you mean that you would rather not click on a link at all, regardless of whether it opens in a new window or not? Perhaps it would help to give you a preview via thumbnail to decide whether you want to bother clicking or not? I've been really considering using thumbnails for that very reason.
It really is the same amount of "clicking" for the new/same window dilemma. You either click on the link and click on close, or click on the link and click on back. :shrugs:
