www.stopsnakes.com - Electronic Snake Repellant

TrpnBils

22 is not enough snakes
http://www.stopsnakes.com/

Check this out. I can't believe people would actually spend close to $200 on a product like this. An ad for this thing came up in gmail because my dad mentioned the word "snake" in an email to me this morning...

Here's another one. It's some kind of chemical product that "causes snakes to leave your yard for good" http://www2.yardiac.com/long.asp?tgs=17128790:40287598&cart_id=&item_id=665
Dr. T's utilizes the knowledge about the snakes Jacobson organ and interference with the snakes sensory reception ability. In simple terms the snakes nervous system is temporarily shut down.
It has been universally approved and endorsed by naturalists, conservationists and ecologists

This site also sells glue traps for snakes.

The Snake Guard glueboard trap is large enough to catch even the largest rattlesnake. 2 ft. 6 in. by 1 foot 5 inches. Snakes, lizards and rodents can be released unharmed by applying vegetable oil to loosen glue from board and then cleaning animal with an oily rag.
They're marketed to safely remove dangerous snakes from your property...safe for people, after the snake dies of exposure would be my best guess. And I would like to meet the person who traps "the largest rattlesnake" and then, in an effort to safely remove it, dumps vegetable oil on it and dries the snake off with a towel. :headbang:

You'd be surprised at how many people are actually afraid of snakes. And while I don't agree with a lot of these things, they are more humane than just chopping them up with a shovel any day.

My former boss was deathly afraid of the garters he had under his porch. I'd gone over several times to collect them up, and take them back to my home and release them down by the pond.

He tried the glue boards which did work, but was so scared to even pick them up after they'd been stuck. Although he never wiped them off, just poured the oil on them and left them at the woods.

The best luck he had was with "Snake Stopper" by Bonide, its a sulphur and garlic granule IIRC, that you sprinkle around in places you're having problems. Once he sprinkled that under his porch, he didn't have any more problems.

Me, I actually populate my polebarn with the black rat snakes I find. I'd rather a big ole black snake than mice chewing up my insulation. ;)

If they could come up with an electronic device to attact snakes or lizards to my yard I might be interested in one of those. That would be great!:crazy02:

Ok, this is too weird. Today one of my bosses was listening to a conversation between a coworker/friend and I about snakes and he asked what would work on a really big snake he was afraid of. We laughed at the thought of this huge former military guy being afraid of a "huge" snake, until he told us about the football sized lump it had. That made us ask just how big this snake is and what color. He said, "It's green and I don't know how big it is because I can only see about 8 feet of it on a pipe it sits on in my yard." We are now on speed dial for the next time he sees it :)

Florida...go figure. It could be anything. Good luck!

We figure its got to be a python that one of the neighbors lost or let loose. The worst part is he's called animal control a few times and no ones showed up yet.

Wow!

So maybe he found the device to attract great snakes to his yard!!! A pipe you say????? JK!!! LOL!!! I'd be curious to know what the heck it is...if he calls you'll have to share the story!!! :)

You know... the other day I was walking through my neighbor hood and I got a brilliant idea.... what if I bought a thousands of these electronic snake deterant devices and handed them out for free to a circle of neighbors in about a 1000 yard radius from me. That would make my house the reptile sanctuary!!! Lol. Probably not but it's a good thought any way. :) I've come up with a crude drawing to demonstrate. Lol.
