question on cleaning

hello all. i had a question regarding cleaning the aquarium. eric is just a hatchling and i wanted to change his substrate to aspen so i can see the poops better. anyways, when i do change the substrate, i plan to clean the tank as well. i can search for your suggestions on cleaners (but it would help if you could post your suggestions as well), but do the snakes need time to "acclimatize" again to the new substrate or do they just settle in again.

usually you can see the poops easy...but sometimes its well hidden under the aspen hehe :crazy02:
