Rootbeer...........aaaaaaahhhhhh!!

Here are afew pics of a corn I got at a show recently labeled simply as a mutt for $10.00.Have you ever seen a snake with so many spots?It kind of looks like a hognose,patternwise.The vendor said it is the product of an Emoryi x Hypo Corn I assume that means Rootbeer. Anybody got pics of other rootbeers or mutts?

It depends on who you ask. If you ask color oriented people, they will tell you that a rootbeer corn can only be so called if it is actually a color approaching rootbeer coloration. Others (genetic focused, folks) will tell you that any normal colored emoryi x corn offspring is a rootbeer by definition. These genetic focused folks call all amel emoryi x corn crosses: creamsicles, and all hypo emoryi x corn crosses: cream sodas. Color oriented people however, use those names only as they apply from an appearance perspective.

So, is it a rootbeer? Is it a cream soda? It's really up to you, since you own it! You won't come up with a name that EVERYONE agrees with anyway, so make yourself happy, in my opinion. It will only matter if you plan to breed it and sell the offspring. If you do, so long as you disclose the emoryi blood, people will call those babies whatever they want to.
