when feeding snakes. . .
usually its good to put snakes in a seperate container other than the cage when feeding the snake correct? if so then say you had to leave your snake in there over night when you fed him/or her, do they need water to help the mouse go down or anything? and how often does a snake drink water. . . once a week , a couple times a day???????
thanx

It's a good idea to feed in a seperate container, that way they don't swallow any substrate with their meal. If you keep your snake on newspaper or papertowels then you can feed in their cage. Hatchlings often do better feeding in a small container instead of giving them the whole cage to roam in. If you find you need to leave your snake in the feeding container over night he/she will be fine without water. Corns drink a good amount of water. I clean and refill water bowls every two days.

I only think it's necessary to keep snakes in their feeding boxes over night if they are problem eaters. If they are good eaters, they will swallow the item more or less right away and, when the mouse has moved into the stomach, you can put the snake back into its usual tank. They don't need water while eating.
