Before I get to the problem, let me chronicle what isn't going wrong....temps are by the book perfect, feeding technique is by the book (love that is) perfect, housing, hides, substrate, lighting cycles, handling, privacy, etc are all perfect; feeding dates, amount of time inbetween might be inconsistent..only because of the PROBLEM..my 5 month old abbott's okeetee throws a feeding back at me every fourth feeding. I do not understand what I am doing wrong, and it is starting to make me doubt my ability to grow a healthy snake. Any comments to help me??

:shrugs:

So you feed 3 meals no problem, and the 4th gets regurged?
How many times has it happened (how many regurges)?
Are the mice always the same size?
How long do you normally wait before feeding? i.e. 5 day schedule etc...
How long after a regurge?

Sorry for all the questions, but they may help out somewhat.

It has happened 3 times in a row.

The mice are always the same size, by eyesight (not weight).

Ah, I wait till the first major bowell movement of the snakes, then wait one day and feed again. This usually means that I am feeding every 4 days, however, it has been every 5 twice during this routine.

I wait 8 days to feed after a regurge, and I use nutribac for every feeding (which I sprinkle lightly in the back end of a F/T pinkie). It isn't the nutribac is it?
:puke01: Man I want this to stop. Thanks for your concern.

Try switching to a feeding schedule that is longer. Even 6-7 days instead of 5 might make all the difference in the world. Another thing, is he getting ready to shed or always in a certain stage of shed when he regurges? If that's the case just skip that feeding. It would be better to miss a feeding than regurge IMO.

No stage of shed. I have only had him for a coulple months, and he shed once and fed during...no problems.

I think that I will simply go to every seven days for a feeding schedule.

Although, he won't grow nearly as quickly...I suppose it's worth not having the regurges.

Thanks for the advice.

I agree with Katie. Maybe try extending the feeding schedule just a bit. If that seems to work out well you might be able to go back to a 5 day schedule after 7-8 feedings with no regurges.
I doubt the nutribac would be causing a regurge considering one of the main uses for it is to rehabilitate after a regurge. And I don't see why it would only be affecting after every 4 meals. If that is something you suspect, you can always try using a little less in conjunction with a 6-7 day feeding scheme.
