Differences between Males and Females?

Hello, besides the obvious reproduction differences are there any differences in the behaviour of male/female Corns? I think I read that males tend to get longer than females, do they also get "fatter" ?

So...are there no differences really or?

they're not bigger or fatter all the time. it depends on how you feed them. i had a male and female that were the same age but the female was longer and fatter because the male wasn't eating. so it depends on how well you take care of them. but if they are taken care of well the male might be a little fatter and a little longer.

corn sexing

well males do get longer and fatter but in their tails. so i you have a male and a female of same age and you can tell that their tails are noticably diferent they you can sex this way. male have a longer and its fater at the beggining of the tail. and females have a smaller shorter tail.

Our largest corns have almost always been males, but there are definitely some big females out there too. There are not the consistent differences in size between males and females that there tend to be with boids - where females are quite consistently larger.

Nice thing about males is that you never have to content with egg binding - and we have had, or known about several young females that have never been bred that ended up egg bound. We recommend that pet buyers who purchase from us consider getting a male for that reason. It is really difficult to deal with a young, egg bound female and I would rather have pet owners avoid that if possible.
