just found out i ahve got to go away for a week and am not shore what to do about my corn.

hvnt got any one who can change his water.

what to do what to do...........

any one had this problem before????
 
that sounds like the best idea.... not as if hes gonna be on his own for weeks. Either get a bigger water bowl or get one extra. Should be enough. But other people may have ideas cos im kinda new to the snake keeping thing...Heck....mines escaped after having hiim a week!!!
 
we think through a very very very small gap in the lid of the tank, where the wire from the heat mat came out of the corner. He would have had to climb quite far up but if he did thats probably how he got out. Been missing for a few days.
 
me too, but we've looked everywhere. Think we are planning on waiting about 3 weeks then maybe getting another one. But knowin our luck we'll get one then the missing one will turn up!! but then we'll have two, yay! lol

Hey man, that's what happened to me! I left the lid off my amel's viv one night, he took a stroll for 2 weeks, and in the meantime I bought my normal. Then my amel showed up again.

I've got to ask you though, it sounds like your UTH (heat pad) is INSIDE the viv. That's not good. It should be underneath the viv on the OUTSIDE. They tend to get VERY hot. Some even get up into the 100s. I would move it to the outside of the viv. Just to be on the safe side. Then you also won't have to worry about a cord coming out of your viv.

Dont feel bad, man. Mine escaped right out of my hands excactly one week after I got him. I was holding him on my couch and he wriggled out of my hands and into a crack in the couch. He waqs stuck in that couch for over two days until I finally found him. So don't feel bad. It happens to all of us!:cheers:

I would go with maybe just two more water bowls. That will give you three total for the three full days you are gone. Or just add one more big bowl that he can get into.

Don't worry too much about it though. Snakes that escape go without water for weeks sometimes!
