Down with the sickness
When I first saw this little girl, she was so pretty I decided that if she was still there (at the San Diego Irba) when I was done shopping, I'd nab her. When I got to the car I realized her head wasn't very grey so I took her out to check out her belly and found two kinks near her tail.:( My husband ran her back and the guy couldn't find her sister so he gave me my money and the snake back with a large apology. I am not sure what to do with her but I have friends that do reptile shows for birthdays and schools. I think that may be her calling.

If you look real close you can see the kinks in this pic. She does have a clean belly and so far eats and poos just fine. I really need glasses so I can notice these things sooner. She is gorgeous though, she'll be a great pet.

Very nice snake... but I do think that its sad that the snake has kinks... but if it doesnt hurt it then I think that your acutally helping the little girl out... if it was in the wild it probably wouldnt make it...

I've seen slight mutations like spine/tail kinks in leopard geckos (as well as other mutations such as missing eyes/eyelids, fingers) that are incubated with pretty fluctuating temperatures.

Could/would this affect a corn snake in a similar way with the kinks n' all?

And how serious is a kink as a genetic threat? Is a kink usually a sign of a genetic problem, and passed on to off-spring, or something specific to the individual, like incubation temperature fluctuations as I mentioned above, with normal offspring?

I was at that show in san diego and must have missed the corns you found, You got some nice ones there - I picked up a pair of ghosts and a pair of normal motley stripes

Such kinks are mostly a nature´s spell. Could also be because the incubationtemperature was at some moment no optimal.
Seldom it is genetic, so I would not worry when the snake is doing allright. Just enjoy its company.
