Size of heat mat?

For a 36 inches long, 24 inches wide and 24 inches high vivarium, what size of heat mat should I go for:

17 inches by 11 inches or
23 inches by 11 inches?

One that covers about 1/3 of the floor space of your vivarium.

Those are too big. A lot of "recomended" sizes are geared towards snakes that like a lot more heat than corns.

I'd get the 23" X 11" and put it "sideways" on the tank, so that the 23" side of the heat mat is lining up with the 24" width of your tank. This will cover approximately 1/3 of your tank floor.

I have a 20gal L (30x12x12) and my mat is 10.5x11. It covers about one third of the floor.
